Bybit launched forex perpetuals for EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY on September 8, 2026, adding three major currency pairs to its crypto-collateralized derivatives lineup and offering them for trading around the clock, according to the exchange.
TLDR KEYPOINTS
- Bybit launched currency-pair perpetual contracts.
- The pairs are EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY.
- The announced trading schedule is 24/7.
Bybit launches perpetuals for three major currency pairs
The launch of Bybit forex perpetuals covers three symbols, EURUSDUSDT, GBPUSDUSDT and USDJPYUSDT, tracking EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY respectively. Each contract settles in USDT, tracks its underlying spot exchange rate and carries no expiry date, the exchange said. For related coverage, see Aptos Launches Confidential APT on Mainnet.
The products integrate with Bybit’s Unified Trading Account and extend a TradFi Perpetuals suite that the exchange launched in April 2026 and has grown to more than 200 assets. The move continues a broader product push that also saw Bybit Pay integrate with Mesh for crypto payments.
EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY
The announced pairs are EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY. All three are offered as perpetual contracts, meaning they have no settlement date and are designed to mirror their respective spot FX rates. What the 24/7 trading announcement covers
Bybit describes the FX perpetuals as trading around the clock, including while the underlying currency market is closed. That framing is the exchange’s own; the announcement positions weekend access as a differentiator from spot FX, which pauses outside institutional trading hours.
Round-the-clock trading for the announced pairs
The 24/7 description applies specifically to these Bybit perpetual contracts. Continuous contract trading does not by itself imply continuous underlying FX price discovery, guaranteed liquidity or uninterrupted execution, none of which the announcement details.
Reference-price inputs, weekend pricing behavior and any maintenance windows are not spelled out in the launch materials. Those mechanics warrant confirmation against Bybit’s product documentation before they can be characterized.
Contract details to verify before trading
Key contract parameters remain worth confirming from official product pages. Collateral and settlement currency, maximum leverage, funding terms, fees and regional eligibility are the first items to check, alongside the reference-price methodology, weekend pricing and liquidation rules.
Jurisdictional access is a live question: Bybit has previously imposed region-specific requirements, as seen when it set a verification deadline for Bybit Brazil business accounts. Any promotional terms tied to the FX launch should likewise be verified against official announcements rather than the exchange’s separate campaign pages before trading.
